Maybe it's just the outlets I frequent, but there's definitely been a noticeable skew towards favorable reviews in recent years. Media seems much more averse to criticism than in the past, almost as if they're worried about upsetting whatever arrangement they have with the label/PR agency.
In this case I think it warrants favorable reviews however. It's a really fun, if cheesy/retro, album to put on while driving.

I'm favorable for the most part though, but it's not the holy grail of 80s flavoured hard rock let alone the band's best material.
Fun? Hell yes! Perfect, thrilling, revolutionary? Not so much, and this comes from one of this site's most embarrassing fanboyos.

Better than Prequelle, but a bit too cheesy. I wouldn't be surprised if Tobias had a musical in the works for Ghost. The first part is nice tho, Call Me Little Sunshine has a cool guitar lead.

I feel like tobias is surrendering too much of the songwriting process to outside influences on the last 2 albums, just look at the songwriting credits compared to the first 3 albums.. The first 3 albums it was almost entirely Forge, but now every song is co-written with names that usually write songs for the likes of Ariana Grande and The Weeknd. I feel like some of the catchier choruses are probably their work rather than Tobias, and the sound is losing his DNA

Good review Dewi! I've only heard a couple Ghost songs before and they were okay. It's been interesting to see the mixed reactions from their fanbase on this one.

mixed reactions are definitely interesting because it's ghost through and through. this is the 100% logical follow-up to prequelle. though i know sometimes the illogical follow-up is more exciting.
side note i do hope he does more with what he started exploring on satanic panic
