I don't mind if people don't like the album but what's curious is like I wonder where have you people been for the past two albums, both were pretty direct rock albums. Especially Luciferian Towers. This is more complex and nuanced than Luciferian Towers imo.
It'd be weird to me if someone really liked Luciferian Towers but didn't like this one. I see you didn't really like LF and that makes sense.
I think what people are picking up on in the new era of GYBE is that they are more direct rock band in general, it's almost like ASMZ + GYBE at this point. Before the albums were long, winding, and had a LOT more room to breathe. Like listen to Yanqui U.X.O. and then listen to a newer GYBE album, on Yanqui they have a lot more space to work within. The album seems massive compared to their newer work. Part of that vastness (this is true for LYSF too) is the space left in the mix.
Newer albums have a more direct rock structure. Though I am curious how people can listen to like, the last track on here and the second one, and not enjoy those as fans of Godspeed, the last track sounds like it could have been a part of LYSF and ''Fire At Static Valley'' is very beautiful and the build up of ambience in that track reminds me of parts of F#
But again, even that track, before the band would have built more with that ending, and made it even more monstrous whereas now they are content not to do that. For whatever reason. Hard to say why really.

I definitely think they could have done even more with these songs and actually made something even closer to the quality of their early years, but with that said I'm super satisfied with this album overall. I didn't expect something of this quality from the band ever again seeing as how I didn't enjoy the last two albums at all. This was such a pleasant surprise and I was impressed by how well it works as an album, with the shorter tracks for once playing a real part in the tracklist.

I don’t think “hagiofication” is a word. Should be “hagiography”.

"I don’t think “hagiofication” is a word. Should be “hagiography”."
hagiography = writing on a subject as saint / hagiofication = the specific elevation a subject to sainthood
...I mean, it 100% isn't a word in any vernacular, but if GYBE think it's acceptable to treat album titles this way, imma do the same to English grammar lol
