Well Jeremy, you got your Fueled By Ramen paycheck. I would definitely consider that some "fuck you" money to all your fans.

Uh best parts of the record are the bass lick around 1:34-1:46 and the breakdown on Permanent. Last Chance To Dance could be "okay", but those lyrics JFC. Most of this is some of the worst shit I've ever heard tho and I really dont think there's any way they could have pulled off this style shift. There's nothing to work with here.
A 1.5 feels too generous, but a 1 feels a tad too harsh. It's a 1.3

Its truly the worst album I've heard in 4+ years I think. This is gonna become an objectivity boost album for the site

That awkward moment when literally no-one is going to rate this even a 3.

On another listen Everything We Need is growing on me. But even if I enjoy it I'm not sure it will cause me to up my rating.

tbf i really didn't mind the singles all that much, in isolation, but mixed in with the likes of FYM and High Diving its difficult to sit through the whole 46 mins of it
Homesick, WSMFY and Common Courtesy will remain my ADTR fix

Sad thing is, even if this album lead into the "Last Chance to Dance" direction from start to finish, I still don't think this would break a 3 average.

See I disagree here, and I think it's what makes this thing as disappointing as it is. They absolutely do/should have the ability to pull this off... yet failed harder than even their greatest detractors could have predicted. There's been inklings of this style since WSYFM.
I haven't really read much on the writing process of this album, but I believe they absolutely had some outside help here that they weren't using before. Like this shit doesn't even sound like ADTR.

shit is absolute trash. used to love these dudes and this bullshit doesn't even sound like them. there are maybe 2 songs that have any day to remember traces... don't see myself ever ever coming back to this.

Who the fuck thought red on red would look good or even be discernible from a distance. That art really is terrible.

the excuse given for this album's delay from 2019(!) was that they hadn't finished the mixing or the album art lol. time well spent, clearly.

I've been wondering if that was a cop-out and they were really debating scrapping this and doing something else lol. Maybe I'm just hopeful they didn't actually think this was good

Sounds like they're trying to be latter day Fall Out Boy. Probably a bit of label intervention here
