"From the very cursory couple listens I gave Dissociation I feel like I can say I liked it better than One of Us at least."
Hardly a benchmark, one of us is worst DEP by a landslide

Eh, I prefer some songs off of One Of Us to a good portion of Ire Works - but I suppose I'm inclined to agree there with you. Option Paralysis is the album I personally consider to be Dillinger's best, both sides of the band's coin considered.
Anyhoo, I feel like a number of people tend to focus on Pennie/Rymer/Drummer of the band and Weinman - leaving Greg out in a lot of praise worthy conversations regarding the success of Dillinger. He's kind of a paradox of a musician. A lot of opinions will look down on people who are seen as emulating others, and Puciato was looked upon as a poor mans Mike Patton throughout his tenure with the band.
I think with Child Soldier and Fuck Content (which is much more than just a live album) he proves just how he transcended the genre he is most known for and actually enters as an artistic contemporary of people like Patton rather than an understudy. Black Queen also showcases this, regardless of how you feel on the quality of the songwriting itself.
Really cool album. I'd love to see another GP branded release.

The more I jam this, the better it gets. Closing track is amazing.

I really like 'Fireflies'.
Really solid album all around.

After this giving this more time I'm disappointed that Greg decided to shove so many Black Queen b-sides into the middle of this thing. Really destroys the flow and gets in the way of the harder and interesting parts.

Not sure if it's been pointed out before the intro and verses of Do You Need Me to Remind You sound a lot like You've Seen the Butcher

Yeah it only just dawned on me. It's not the whole track, just the synths washing in and out of the intro and first verse.

greg puciato's influences. nin and deftones all those industrial and emo bands or whatever. don't like that stuff really, so without DEP I kind of doubt I'll like this guys music, but like Ill said, it's on the list so i'll check back when I've listened to it

yeah i get that.
But as someone that loves all of those influences and loves Greg as a vocalist this shit is awesome. I hope he decides to tour at some point after this fucking virus

For sure man. Normally I think this kind of musical diversity sounds forced but literally every song here is great in it’s own way.
