Colton, would you pick Born to run over Darkness on the edge of town? I'd say that's his best record.

I always thought his first two albums are too derivative, not really his style. Born to Run was the record he discovered his sound, and Darkness was the record where that sound matured. Each to their own though.

I think Born to Run is somewhat overrated and find Darkness to be my favorite. Nebraska is unreal too.

"I can't see how The Wild, The Innocent and The E Street Shuffle is derivative of anything tbh. Springsteen's early work was really original"
I dunno, sounds alot like Van Morrison crossed with Dylan to me. But like an overstuffed version, like a sensory overload? I find Born to Run is a great record but it does give me a bit of listener fatigue. Darkness is the sweet spot for me, enough grandeur and intimacy.

lol ye I kinda see it

I have low expectations for this , I'm a fan of him (despite his recent inexcusable support for corrupt corporate democrat Joe Biden) he made a terrible song for Biden apparently, I remember hearing it. Song was hilarious considering who was using it and the lyrical content of it lmao!

Springsteen is also part Italian, so that's probably why you see de niro

can't believe the boss still brings it

I saw him play a Christmas song at Bonnaroo.

Wrecking Ball is excellent - on par with Letter To You. Working On A Dream and Western Stars a bit below those but still very good. He’s one of those artists who doesn’t falter much IMO.
BTW I am happy he supported our new President Elect.

Song For Orphans is incredible, rocks hard and the lyrics have the playful brilliance of Springsteen's first few albums

This is great

I am completely stoked! I just started jamming this and 3 or 4 spins in, I am inclined to some hyperbole in the sense of 'best Springsteen since Born In The U.S.A.'
This does rock and it has the atmosphere. Lyrically I really dug th th last ones too, especially 'Western Stars' but musically they all were rather stale...
Fuck, he really still has it...
BTW Who else cringed at Bruce doing Jeep commercial in the superbowl? WTF????
