How did I miss commenting on this review before?
Looking forward to the new one.

I think I Love You might be their best song to date, I get why people think the vocals at the 2 minute mark are contrived but they make the hairs on my arms stand up every time and I think the song would be seriously lacking without them.
Jackie Down the Line is fantastic too, they've come a long way songwriting-wise since Dogrel and the album could be something special.

So far they hit it out of the fucking park with the new one. All three songs are fantastic.
Couldn’t stand this band when the debut got released and now their upcoming record is my most hyped release of the year.

Another new track?? And it's a wee bit shoegazey? This is shaping up to be my album of the year.

Been avoiding the pre release singles but from everyone’s reactions seems it’ll be a 5 rated album for me…considering how much I liked their last one

yeah I'm reserving judgement for maybe up to 10 listens of the new one
I feel something intrinsic to their sound has been lost a bit but they've definitely replaced it with something else... that's exactly how I was left feeling with their last album on the first couple of goes and then I ended up preferring it to the debut and even 5'd it for 6 months

Second listen and I’ve nailed it - this one is barely punk at all…but they’ve made it more classic indie/alt (possibly gothic) rock.
As such the appeal and hooks are slightly different and you need to recalibrate a little. Lower energy but it has this power anyway. Yeah starting to like it a lot

Interesting. I thought the last one was a slow burner...think this one will be even more so.
Not ruling out it becoming my favourite but it is taking me a little effort to let go of them being a 'punk' or 'post punk' band with lyrics that come out of the traps and keep going.
Textures are really impressive though, just wanted more of the lyrics to stand out on the first couple of listens maybe. 'The Couple' has grown on me a lot...need tracks 2-3 to settle on me too maybe.
Another great album though, it's not too early to say that.
