I never really got that into currents. The vox are very hit-or-miss for me personally.

Monsters has a top tier chorus. Stuck in my head all the time

There are definitely some great choruses on this record.
Kill The Ache is one of my favorites.

Poverty of Self cranks. The rest of the album is super average, his singing sounds like shit and really distracts me from the moment.

There is way too much singing on here for sure. Still got some great jams though.

I knew this was missing more content. it's 39 mins long compared to 50 mins on the debut. 11 mins shorter, thats like 2-3 songs they could've added on here. album feels short and they def could've added another heavier song.

I'd much rather listen to a 39 minute album than a 50 minute one tbh, but the debut is better yea

"slightly top heavy"
not sure if I disagree or if it's just the fact that the first 3 songs were all singles.

They should make more shit like Poverty but ditch the verse-chorus nonsense

Generally I agree with that sentiment but I think a lot of the choruses on here are actually very strong, some are even the high points of the tracks that they're in.

The guitar in better days is sick, overall I like their debut and ep better. The songs on this album also feel kind of scattered, the first record was way more cohesive.

i'll have to check the debut. i gave this one a DL for later

the atmospheric parts of this give me Arcane Roots vibes, which is delightful
but so much of this is frustrating in the ways that most djentcore is frustrating — it's over-produced, it's too obsessed with verse/chorus/verse/chorus song structures, the cool bits of atmosphere and melody never get to develop (which is also part of the song structure problem), there's no real dynamics, the lyrics are generic angst with no teeth...
edit: the prechorus of the closer is so much better than everything else here, dang. it's not going to change my rating, though

They say the pain is temporary
They say the feeling isn't bound to last
might be my low key favorite currents moment
