Thank you for your input. Next time I think an album deserves a 5 I'll give it a 4.9 just for you. ;-)

aight help me with Army here

Devine's last verse is all in second person ("Before you sucked a bullet from your father's gun

"), but his lines are all from veteran's perspective, right? is that just part of the mental breakdown? or am I just thinking too far into this?

album is really impressive, this 3.5 is likely a temp rating

I was wondering about that too. I need to read the full lyric sheet while listening to the song.

I was doing that and it briefly led me to the conclusion that maybe it's not "Devine's the vet, Hull is the wife/partner", but I could go either way.

Leave it Alone and Apprehension are two of the best songs off SM.

Excited to check this. I don't think their previous efforts are great, but there are always a couple great songs. But, I always felt like they had a great album in them, just thought like they needed to be a more fluid collaboration instead of, like, Andy-led song, Kevin-led song, Andy-led song, etc.

This still follows the Andy-Kevin-Andy trend but the songs are just far more cohesive, consistent, and better

I'm somewhat nervous about this, tbh. I haven't loved Kevin's output for a while and... well, I know how you feel about MO, but I've also not loved any of their albums since Simple Math. So, I'm really interested to see what carries over, if anything, and how they work together.

Fader's analysis of "Simon & Garfunkel in space" is pretty apt

Added the link. It's a pretty good read if you're on the fence about listening and want a little extra prod.

Mighty is straight up my least favorite MO song outside of Cope, never got the hype

T/t is probably my favorite, but LIA and Apprehension round out my top 3.

I like Mighty. It’s probably right in the middle for me as far as SM songs go.

Cope the song is good but nothing special. Best songs off Cope are def Top Notch and Every Stone.

I love Mighty, it's a top-10 MO song for me. The part where the strings and drums kick in is so epic.

It would be very fun to make a top 20 MO song list, but mine would just be over saturated with Virgin, METN, and Simple Math tracks.

nothing wrong with that

other than the fact the Black Mile has at least 3 of their best songs
