2 is Mac’s best album and anyone who disagrees is a n00b

There was just something about 2 he wont ever capture again

Boney knows where it's at
Another One is second-best behind Dog if you include that

2> and after that nothing is really worth jamming

think my fave is salad days actually

At this point he really only has two albums, 2 and Salad Days are basically the same thing but Salad is better, likewise this is basically the same as This Old Dog but that one is way better. Salad and Dog are all I need, though 2 has its highlights.
|
| |
Salad Days is somewhat better than 2 but I haven't heard the other ones. Rock n Roll Night Club ok
|
| |
holy wrong opinion @boney writing 2 or even this as lesser versions of other albums seems a disservice, he was going for different vibes with each release
2 > dog > this > salad > niteclub
salad has no character imo. it got me into mac but over the years of loving me boi, it's the one that reflects his personality the least. Chamber of Reflections is the best song he's ever made though, and Passing Out Pieces is also incredible

| |
2 is just quintessential mac demarco, no way around it. It's his personality on an album.

I wonder if this album sounds good sped up x2
it's definitely missing something but a couple of the tracks are still quality

sped x2 may be the way to go, he sound borderline comatose on this record sometimes
|

I have just as hard of a time deciding if “2” is better than “Salad Days” as deciding if Blink-182’s “Enema of the State” is better than “TOYPAJ”. A seriously hard decision..

The hidden track on here is going to give me nightmares I swear
Also I see the DeMarco fanboys found the neg button, nice

Yeah, this is a competent review
|
| |
Review makes sense even if I don’t fully agree. I’m still surprised I’m not the only one who enjoys it lol.
I’d argue the production style isn’t lo-fi tho. All the instruments are actually mixed pretty decently, it’s the minimalist approach to the instrumentation that makes it seem lo-fi.

Choo Choo might be the worst song of the year lmao
|

Actually really enjoying this so far, sounds like he made this just for himself and it's easy to see why so many people are turned off by that but I find it charming
