Someone doesn’t know anything about the band and their history.

much less flaccid than last time

It took me two listens across two days just to make through silhouettes. The end result is that I'm now able to say I gave American Football a chance and it wasn't too bad.

Ok, I'm happy with the avg, a 4 seems fair.

I have a hard time believing this has a 4 average. I haven’t heard it yet but I feel it’s not.

I kinda expected to hate this but it's got something to it so far. Albums in this vein tend either to nail an atmosphere or completely flop and it's definitely getting there

So is this like the emo version of Anathema?
I heard the Powell's feature and it's nice but the rest sound very (maybe too much) chill.

The way the chorus of Every Wave To Ever Rise suddenly plummets the song into a minor key is just fucking incredible

Heir Apparent just keeps on giving, what a great track. I'd definitely put it along with their other classics.

I gotta admit, "Silhouettes" is really quite boring. Album's great from there though.

Hard disagree, Silhouettes has such an incredible atmosphere. The bells fit with the guitar so well. Also I just realized the reason I love I Can't Feel You so much is because it sounds just like a Slowdive song

.........and as soon as I submit that comment I go and look up the track and see the feature is actually Rachel fucking Goswell. oh my god

Silhouettes, Uncomfortably Numb, Doom in Full Bloom and the penultimate track were the easy standouts imo
