Way too samey to be a 4.5 imo but it’s damn solid and fun.

There's something I really hate about the bass tone in modern tech death. I dunno if it's all down to the fretless bass but it just sounds so liquidy, the best way I can describe it is diarrhoea bass.

I actually find this more varied than a lot of tech/prog death albums I've listened to (Inferi, First Fragment, Beyond Creation, Irreversible Mechanism, Inanimate Existence etc.).

It has a blessed mix, lots of individual instrumental clarity for a seven piece project. Also, healthy doses of fretless bass, flamenco sections/interludes, groovy riffs (Suit of My Flesh), and keyboard work.

Inferi is leagues above this band for me but these guys have room to improve for sure.

Plus they’re from Pittsburgh so that gave me extra incentive to jam lol.

Revenant and TPOA are dope albums (Revenant might be my favourite release from last year). I guess I just like this bad boy *slightly* more if I had to pick. I'm very excited for the End of An Era remake coming out.

I’ll bet you $500 they win 7 games or less and Odell tears them apart at the seams.

Is it really necessary for both guitars and bass to be lead instruments, each doing their own thing most of the time? It just sounds fucking chaotic and cluttered.

Well this is pretty damn sweet. Man I like me some tech every now and then. Lots of latin vibes on this too which is p cool.

Never thought I would say the bass is too high in the mix in an album but... THE BASS IS TOO FUCKING HIGH IN THE MIX, DROWNS OUT FUCKING EVERYTHING (don't get me wrong, great bassist and I like Beyond Creation, but fucking hell)
