McCafferty are horrendous and their lead singer is a fucking moron but I echo the other recs, Mom Jeans new album was definitely the biggest surprise of the year for me

Mom Jeans. was a shock for me as well. I thought the new McCafferty album was good! ... although, yeah their singer is a moron AND I wasted money on a show to see them live and they bailed. I ended up not even going to the concert because the only other act I cared to see was Moose Blood ... no thanks.

All of you need to check out Hot Mulligan for sure though. New band of the year imo (although I guess they kind of had a release last year)

I think McCafferty is pretty talented but I can't STAND the singers voice, and that was before I found out that that awful awful singer thinks he's a gift from the gods or something Lmao
Hot Mulligan is indeed damn amazing tho

This bands emotion is incredible. Just watched a bunch of their live videos and it is incredible how great they are and how ridiculously unknown they are

For real tho, would have pegged this as something you’d really enjoy! what do you dislike about it, my man?

this is very good but it’s almost too similar to bands like the menzingers and wonder years that it kind of suffers in the sense that it’s, well, not the menzingers or the wonder years in a way where i don’t envision this being something i listen to much

Going to have to agree with Onion. I hear some Hotelier at times as well. Add to that I'm not a fan of the production or lyrics, and that I'm super picky with my taste in emo/pop-punk. I felt something similar with Swell (though, without a doubt, this is better). It's a matter of talented musicians making music I don't like, and I can't really fault that. Going to listen to Say Anything to make amends. < 3
