it's that kind of scraping falling effect found in a lot of their songs, like at the beginning of chamber the cartridge (first one that comes to mind)

Bubs 4 staff

Please make a list where you compile them by album. Legitimately interested to see what you find.

Also, I should probably listen to this album soon. Used to be my favorite band, and I still enjoyed parts of Endgame and Black Market. Make it Stop is a jam.

Seeing these guys again with Deftones and Thrice in July, not sure what to expect. They do play a decent live show though.

Ever since Sufferer it seems like every album has sounded pretty much the same, albeit a bit more cheesy.

Eh.

bubs headed straight for that promotion. next up: how many terms is the term 'goodwill' said across The Wonder Years' discography?

@brostep: thanks a lot, man. that first para all sort of came out in a rush and then the big challenge was how to actually connect it with the rest of the review in a way that felt organic. gotta let it roll sometimes

As a whole, I still LOVE Rise Against. Their first 3 albums were damn near perfect, but ever since Endgame, I feel like they've lost a certain sense of spark.

Younger RA did seem more politically charged and less timid to be more direct with their lyrics (one of the reasons I was drawn to them so much). I do really like a few song on here! Welcome to the Breakdown is great as well as The Violence.

Maybe next album they'll get their 'Swing Life Away' back.

T/t is great, def the album's highlight. The last minute of Miracle rocks. The reggae-ish stuff in Bullshit is cute. Rest is listenable and at times pretty catchy but that's it.

I see Best Buy has two exclusive tracks. Megaphone rocks alright, haven't managed to listen to the other one yet but it seems it's 2:30 long so I take it as a good sign. Which is also a bad sign because it'd mean that both are better than most of the standard package

that'd be great but so far there's no real pattern as their best album has the most and second best has the least (so far haven't counted for endgame and black market)

Great review. I enjoyed this but not in any particularly meaningful way - a passable album but they're still a shell of what they were back in the days of Sufferer and ATR.
