I wouldn't put it as a complete rip from Swedish death because they have a bit of a hardcore vibe, don't you think? But yeah this album is pretty good but not original by any means.

Yeah, I agree with you, but I'm not sure if it's just what happens when American kids try to play OSDM or if it's an intentional style fusion, not that it matters. Also Kurt Ballou's production adds a lot to this IMO.

Good point on the production. If this was produced too clean then it just wouldn't sound good at all. Makes me wonder what they sound like live.

yep, it sure was.

Its not really a unique trait, Entombed had a hardcore punk influence. thats just part of the sound. Maybe its a little more pronounced with these guys, but they are definitely still a worship band.

i mean, it is pretty clean. its certainly not very raw.
