Man, I don't know what to think about this album. I want to like it, but I just can't get behind their style at all. On the other hand, I actually kinda dig some of the songs - Tin Foil Hats is particularly nice.

This has Melting Sun vibes? Well then dang, I'm going to have to check.

it's sort of like if you made Melting Sun a loooooooooooooot faster.

Melting Sun is 1638173628272 better than this, blast beats or nah. It has a very ethereal and engulfing atmosphere, yet feels dreamy and not suffocating. If anything this album is a bit suffocating.
This is more like giving A Skylit Drive's Wires some redbull. That's about it.
I'm usually for these pitchfork-approved, "hipster black metal" bands. But this is a post hardcore band's sound with a glossy sheen. The vocals sometimes work: the ending of "Trail of Sulfur," "Tin Foil Hats," and "Air" (as a whole), but overall the over-the-top post hardcore vocals ruin the whole thing. This could be absolutely wonderful if they were replaced or taken away. I wanted to like this more than I did but overall it's just meh as it is. 16 and 17 year old me would eat this up like candy though.

Album is definitely a grower. Looking forward to hearing more.

Hopefully it is a grower. Not feeling it so far.

"Up and Atom", "Homesick" and "Obsolete" are the best tracks to me.

This is good. Kinda wears thin after multiple listens, the blast beat drums become a tad overwhelming. The production is awesome. My fav song is Homesick.

this sounds nothing like A Skylit Drive from what I remember of them. Never even liked that band.
|

This is glorious.
|

Yeah I'm really not getting the "a skylit drive" comparisons at all. Even comparing this to Wires is stretched.

Seriously Circa Survive could be compared to this before A Skylit Drive. Dude is smoking crack
