I think Dani California is muchos good. It's gotten a lot of bad responses, but I think it's catchy as hell.

Does it block out anything below average?

Yeah, you can't give it anything below 2.5/5. I'm trying to get it changed. This Message Edited On 05.24.06

Its not a bad song, it redems itself with john's licks and solo.

I am apparently part of a minority who believes the entire song is good.

great review buddy. here's my perspective on this album: I find it to be so superior to all the junk thats out there today like fall out boy and taking back sunday that i just cant find a fault with this album period. its just so much better than everything else out there today.

Make you feel better is the best. The ending of Wet Sand is awesome but the first few minutes are just too boring.

This without doubt the peppers best release both discs are loaded with quality material, although the tracks could have been placed better on the album (the boring slower tracks should be separated by the faster/funkier ones)
Snow really drags towards the end and could have been shorter by a minute or so, the repeated choruses get irratating as hell!
Charlie, torture me, especially in MI, strip my mind, wet sand all rockers on Jupiter!
on Mercury-tell me baby, readymade, if, make you feel better, storm in a teacup, turn it again and death of a martian.
The overall feel of the record is mature and polished.
Touche' BSSM and Californication, great effort guys!

Mars, yo. Mars. But I'd agree with the songs you picked.

Catchy shouldn't always mean good.

Why not? If it's good enough to leave the vocal melodies in your head long after a listen then the song has done something right.

If a song is ear-grabbing and provides you with some sort of sonic sensation, odds are it's a good song.
