It's a weird thing, I adore The Mountain, as most people do, I love Aquarium but almost never listen to visions. Sounds a bit hasty work to me.

Visions is just a lot safer than Aquarius, I think quality-wise it's the better of the two but there's little reason to listen to it when The Mountain exists and is an improvement in every regard. Aquarius is quirky and bounces from one style to another really abruptly, which hits the spot sometimes

I like it for its 'raw' (if one can call it such) nature and love the sound of keybords. Sun is an
excellent ballad, equal to the ones in The Mountain, the story is interesting, even if with a wtf
plot, and in the end they say goodbye with a bombastic, yet short enough to be enjoyable track,
Celestial Elixir, which has a nice circus vibe.
With Visions, I can't say I was impressed, with the exception of the intrumental Portals. And
Unfortunately, the epic t/t leaves me cold.

Remember listening to this band's first LP and finding it to be some weird ass shizz

This EP is so much better than their first two discs, they carved a style and they're consistently delivering pure proggy awesomeness and this ain't an exception

Great EP! DT influence is very apparant in the last track, which actually has Mike Portnoy on it, the only thing he does is hitting the gong in the end of the song lol

That acapella section in crystallized followed by that folky section is fantastic

Nice little EP, more interesting than the Mountain at least.
Band will never top Visions.

funny that you say that, given that visions is my least favourite LP from them. And of course it's not more interesting than the mountain.

Mountain is painfully dull dude, nothing exciting about it.

What's Opeth??
Nah, but TM is where I feel like they developed lots of character and substance with cheese placed at just the right moments.

The Minds Eye off Visions is my eternal jam.

The middle part of the t/t is amazing, but I agree the track is just too long. Darkest light doesn't do much for me, it's just a fine track. Earthlings is nice. A great EP that doesn't have the charm of their first two albums or the consistency of their later ones
