Regardless,On the subject of this band: they are indeed a marketing scheme, and comparing them to The Beatles isn't really accurate, mainly due to the fact that The Beatles wrote all of their early material and weren't brought together by some businessman looking to make money.

The music? I hate One Direction. But i don't like any of the bands you're all comparing them to. But if there are people who like this band, let them; if history has proven anything, it's that they'll eventually stop making music like most of the boy bands before them.

I hate all the hysteria surrounding One Direction, but I don't really have anything against them. Their music is harmless, and while they're basically just a money machine there's far worse music out there.

I can agree that these guys havent matured much in the span of four albums (save for a few tracks like Story Of My Life) but given that they are a marketable band and they have only released for two years now it can be understandable that theyre still in their little "teen demographic" zone. Though their change is getting there despite it being more subtle than I would want it to be. I think after their crews are done milking them for money they will eventually try doing their own work which may be good or not. I don't really know and I don't actually care enough about these guys to find out.

Also I was simply making a damn joke about the wrong generation thing. You all took that crap to a whole new level.

My girlfriend loves 1D, so I've heard them a lot in the past year. They really aren't bad. They make pretty harmless and often catchy pop, and they're good dudes. Obviously their fan base can be a bit ridiculous, but they annoy me less than the edgy neckbeards who hate them so much.
