been getting into gorguts lately. i'd listen to more dm but i've been busy getting into electronic music which i find a lot more interesting these days

yeah it's been kind of the same way for me lately... I've been going back and forth between metal and electronic for the past few months, though I'm on more of a metal kick atm
have you checked Immolation?

It seems like rotten sound gets left out of a lot of death/grind discussions. Exit is one of the tightest, most straightforward kick ass grind albums ever. I like it more than need to control in that aspect

Exit kicks ass yea

There is a good bit of filler on this album. While the filler tracks contribute heavily to the atmosphere of the album as a whole, some tracks get pretty heavy skip button treatment. Mostly crawlspace.

and yet you gave it a 4.5? :P
I really like the variety this album has tbh

4.5 yes. I actually love this a lot, I just have to be in the mood to listen to it all the way through

makes sense I guess

Taken out of context tracks like iron lung and crawlspace are pretty easy to skip, but they fit really well with the rest of the album. The variety is great. One of the most unique grind albums. Or rather just a unique album in general

I have not checked Immolation but my roommate listens to them loads, i'll have him give me some of their stuff. These days I only really listen to DM at the gym. I'll grind cores anywhere though.
Exit is fantastic, definitely my favorite from Rotten Sound. IMO it doesn't touch this, but I'm definitely the type to prefer variety over straightforwardness if that makes sense.
Crawlspace is the reason this isn't a 5. I actually really dig Iron Lung, but Crawlspace is just excessive and abrasive.

I'm not bullshitting when I say that this album slaps extremely hard. Take the intensity and to-the-point brutality you'd expect from grindcore, turn it up to eleven, and implement variation in the process; said variety is most certainly welcome. Black Door Mine and Ordinary Madness are splendid songs, huh?

i wish there were other post-grindcore albums

The only Rotten Sound I've heard is Cycles and I thought it was kind of boring. I really like this though, and I like some other grind like Discordance AxiS and Cellgraft. And Gridlink.

@dani listen to Close to a World Below ASAP it's probably the best dm to ever exist
Immo's just generally a really unique and progressive band and I think you'd dig them a lot

Immolation is one of the most consistently excellent dm bands around. Close to a world below destroys, as does here in after. Even their new stuff like majesty and decay is great

I don't think anyone could debate CTAWB being in the top 5 dm albums

first impression good, will need a few more jams to properly wrap my head around the riffing style
|
| |
might have to bump this just for that didgeridoo combining with that riff in the beginning of godplayer

Godplayer rules, easily one of my favorite tracks on here. Has some of the most memorable riffs on the album
