This review is almost as good as the album itself.

5 reviews are so fun to read when they intertwine personal experiences w/ the music on the album. Amazing.

Glad I started listening to this again, even better than I remembered. Thx klap

I could read your reviews forever, Rudy.
Also, I'm really mad that the first Trail of Dead album I ever listened to was Tao of the Dead. Just seemed insufferably overwrought. Because I'm afraid it's going to tarnish me listening to this, and it sounds fantastic.

Really? I found Century of Self and Tao of the Dead easy to listen to first time, this one took me ages to crack. Years, even

I can enjoy Tao of the dead for about five minutes at a time

I'm trying to get into this, but just can't dig the vocals for the most part

Album Rating: 4.5
Give it time, the music's so good, the vocals grew on me over time. Songs like Another Morning Stoner and How Near How Far are too good to be let down by the vox.

Not sure about Another Morning Stoner tbh, the music isn't all that imo
Relative Ways, the t/t and Days of Being Wild, however, are excellent

vocals took me the longest to get used to as well. Reece was my favorite when I was getting into them
