So ? No one said anything about Victory :-) after ADTR , maybe they have a new winner ...

I first heard about this band because of Lambgoat. There was like a month period on there where everyone was making fun of them on every article. Same thing happened before with Sworn In and then that band blew up. So that's probably gonna happen with Islander.

THESE STREETS ARE PAVED WITH BODIES

Their singer can't seem to decide on one way to sing. He sounds like Chino Moreno, Daryl Palumbo, Davey Havok, and Sonny Sandoval depending on the song. And then Sonny is actually on that one song.

Tom, true. I think he'll settle into his own eventually. For the time being though, I can think of worse vocalists to emulate rather than Moreno and Palumbo!

Coconut Dracula is decent.

Loved that summary; write-up was damned good as well - keep it up.

Thanks again, everyone. It's cool to see these guys get a pleasant reception here.

Nice review! I listened to the iTunes previews of this and didn't like it that much, though.

this is pretty great but i dont see how the lyrics are a highlight, i mean they're pretty silly to say the fucking least.

I was just attracted to the blatantly positive lyrics on this release. I found them to be refreshing and I thought others might feel the same way.

The second part of "Kingdom" has a guitar part that sounds just like the outro to Thrice's "Of Dust and Nations"

Slightly. I was disappointed when I saw them live but this album is still pretty solid. It's basically a mix between POD and early 2000's post-hardcore (Glassjaw, Alexisonfire, Thrice, etc.)

new Wave sounds so glassjaw influenced
