I'm a massive Dismember fan, but this is definitley their most overrated album
|

Overrated, but you still give it a 4. I don't know, I remember getting a copy at the radio station I worked at when this came out...I loved it immediately. Re-listening to it now, and it is still high energy and all. I mean, I like LaEFS and DM better than this, but it is a strong effort.

well i mean loads of people were/are saying that it's as good as LAEFS and I&O, but it hardly touches them imo
it still rules though, especially Shadows Of The Mutilated and Where No Ghost Is Holy

it ain't as good as those two, but it still kicks ass

The end of Autopsy and Phantoms (of the Oath) are so kickass too. The ending to Autopsy is evil as fuck. Jam that song now.
|
| |
can't, I'm being hypnotized by Neurosis and that's somethign you don't interrupt :P
|
| |
This is very true. I know how that goes. Which album?
|
| |
Souls At Zero, The Eye Of Every Storm, Through Silver In Blood, and now A Sun That Never Sets
|
| |
Jesus, a whole day dedicated to Neurosis. Eye of Every Storm or times of Grace are my favorites, but all Neurosis is fantastic. And seeing them live, dude, it is an experience.
|
| |
Shit, I mixed my songs up. "Autopsy" was right, but I meant "Feel the Darkness," not "Phantoms..."

I'm not sure if this is the band's supposed "comeback" album or not, but if that's the case, then it's a brilliant comeback. It basically features the best bits of Dismember's earlier albums and that's essentially why songs like the title track, "Shadows of the mutilated" and "Phantoms (Of the Oath)" are ace. The melody on the last two of the aforementioned songs is well integrated too.
