This is one of the best Italian progressive rock album from the 70s. That one shot RPI's winner has now a brother named La Fabbrica Delle Nuvole which contains a big deal of prog elements, so we are still in known grounds with these guys. I can see that we were engaged in a conversation in this abandoned thread, Sab ;)

Cheers for your brand new Maxophone review about their brand new release!

Gotta say I'm not completely enamored of Antiche Conclusione Negre, otherwise I would probably consider this on a much higher league too. If I had to pick a favorite it would be either Al Mancato Compleanno Di Una Farfalla (I swear I'll never be sure on how to write our song titles, we don't follow English rules and I believe in this case only "Al" should have a capital letter... but then you look at the cover of the new album and see that the title follows English rules) or Elzeviro. Love the vocal melodies from about 2:45 in Elzeviro

Antiche Conclusione Negre is a great song, but I can understand why you don't dig it. It could last 5 minutes instead of 9. It drags on a bit. You've chosen two great tracks as your favorites. I personally prefer Fase, and then all the others are much equally satisfying to me. Nearly a perfect album overall.

Indeed Antiche Conclusioni Negre is great, but as you said I feel it drags a little bit, mainly the vocals. Fase is so good, agreed, it's almost sensual in its jazzy landscapes. It's just that I love to try and connect to the lyrics in music, so it's easier for me to get attached to the stuff with them. That said, for example one of my favorites from Locanda delle Fate's debut album is the instrumental opening track, because I find its melodies speak louder than any word

Some time ago in the thread for La Fabbrica I said that I may as well translate the s/t's lyrics myself. And so I did. I was thinking that I may put the link to the file in a list, so I could add more stuff to that list in case I feel like doing more albums

Nice, Sab. But how do I access to that list?

I haven't made a list yet. I don't want to create one and treat like my discography reviews haha. Time is tight, so for now I'll just link the translation here.

Here's the file for this album, what do you think?

Excellent. I will consult these translations the next time I listen to the album. Thanks for sharing.

I'm not familiar with Italian at all, but when reading the English version and comparing it to the Italian one, I can ''understand'' Italian a little more. Translation seems to be well done.

Edit; I'm a French speaker btw, another latin language that is nearer from Italian than English ofc.

Thanks for the kind words, hope you'll find it useful. Indeed comparing languages is always interesting and it's cool when you feel like you understand what's going on
