I just think it's lame to even have a cover song on such a great record. Femme Fatale really drags it down. On the other hand, the "I mean it" section of A Bird In Hand and the bridge in Pietro Crespi are incredibly lovely.

Mike, in an interview that came out earlier today (https://www.punknews.org/article/60488/interviews-mike-kinsella-on-american-football-capn-jazz-and-owls): "The next record is all done. It’s getting mixed tonight. It will come out in August probably."
I knew he was in the studio cuz of his Instagram but damn, didn't realise the new one was done already. Funny thing is people were hoping the studio pics on Mike's Instagram were from American Football sessions but he'd been talking about writing and recording new Owen stuff for months by that time.

Bad News is incredible, and this album (as well as a lot of his other albums) is such a grower. I like Femme Fatale, but I don't think it's amazing. Most of the other songs are great, though.
