Yeah, I just haven't listened to them in a while. 2TB's of music right now, almost all of it metal. I have to make a conscious effort to remember to pull older stuff to jam to.

I've only heard a few songs, and it seems like Kreator are continuing with the 'Hordes of Chaos' sound like you suggest. A shame, in my opinion- 'Enemy of God' was awesome, and the older stuff they have released likewise. Still, a damn fine listen so far. And pos'd.

this was a little disappointing, the rest of the songs didnt live up to the title track. still, best thing theyve done since Coma of Souls.

compared to their older pure thrash metal stuff (pleasure to kill) this sounds really influenced by modern metalcore.

You couldn't be farther from reality.

If you read all Kreator interviews for the new album, band mambers say that Phantom Antichrist is thrash with a good dosage of old school '80s heavy metal.

to be honest i mostly made that comment to see how kill and sonic would react.

however, you have to admit that the guitar tone and a few of the riffs (the intro to death to the world, as well as that chuggy chord progression at the start of from flood into fire) sound a bit metalcore-ish.

I mean it's "influenced by modern metalcore" and it's basically "a melodic death metal album with 80% clean vocals" so idk man

Nevermind, perhaps you are too young to realize it and I'm too old to further explain it.

lol I'm just kidding. album is great. and I've listened to thrash way before I started listening to melodeath or metalcore. I couldn't stand the growling and screaming and all those pussy melodies, it was all about old school heavy metal back then haha. good old times...
