Common Existence sounded like they were just experimenting to stay relevant, not because they had anything left to say. I was really blown away when this came out and quickly became one of my favorite albums of all time. It's weird, cuz the first concert I went to on my own was a show Thursday was headlining and then they kind of went off my radar and became irrelevant for a few years, now they seem to have matured their sound in line with my interests. I almost wish they'd stay together to see what they'd do, but I really doubt they could top this. Good review of it too.

And that geoff didn't write it any of the music except his vocals and lyrics.

Review inspired me to give this another shot, and I still just don't understand what's so great about it. It's enjoyable, but nothing profound within the genre, let alone outside of it.

I always thought the black and blue version cover was the sea of Hade's lost souls from a protaginists point of view sinking into the sea with the souls swimming in a circle around you as you sank and fought to keep from drowning and making through to the end the same as when you started. So like going through hell and making it out unscathed.

What am I talking about

am i the only one whose favorite track is A Gun in the First Act? gorgeous song...

but yeah i've listened through all their other stuff and nothing grabs me like this album did. A City By the Light Divided has its moments but that's about it.

Naw bro, War All The Time and every other album was great.

I think my favorite song is Magnets Caught in a Metal Heart.
