I'm just desperate to give them more attention
This album is a borderline classic and no one on here fucking talks about it

not as familiar with this as some of their other records but its damn stellar from what i remember. band generally deserves so much more attention on here

Dude, this album is HANDS DOWN a classic, it's got some of the best Placebo material on it. And of course, all that came before it was great too, especially "Without You I'm Nothing". I'm totally with you on getting this band more attention.

title track is probably GOAT Placebo for me

That issss a great song, I think for me personally, it would be a tie between "The Bitter End" or "Plasticine". More than likely "Plasticine", lol. The bass on "The Bitter End" is fantastic too, it's real straight-forward and driving, keeps my head a'bobbin and my foot a'tappin

the bass work on this album in general is brilliant
The Bitter End was so good live, really hope I get to see them again
Plasticine has a killer chorus
|

I've never gotten the chance to see them : (
Don't they have a different drummer now? After "Meds", I pretty much put later releases on the backburner.

They had Steve Forrest post-Meds, then he left in 2015 and now they just have a touring drummer
I'm looking forward to a new release since it's been so long and they've just done a massive 20th anniversary tour, maybe they'll have some fresh inspiration. Loud Like Love has some tracks I really enjoy, it was better than BFTS.

BTFS was the last one I really gave a chance, title track is pretty good, and "Ashtray Heart" became one of my favorite Placebo songs.
What I heard from LLL didn't initially impress me, but maybe I should go back and revisit it.

I still love Ashtray Heart, probably the most anthemic song they've ever recorded
Too Many Friends (the 'my computer thinks I'm gay' song) is great, as is the title track
|
| |
I still love the first album too, it's got a lot of good songs on it (Bruce Pristine, Nancy Boy, Teenage Angst)

I Know could also be my favourite, Brian's vocals are insane on that

Oh snap, I'm gonna have to read that once I get all this paperwork done. Wasn't he on "Without You I'm Nothing" or something like that?

Yeah he was on the single version, which I prefer over the album version

i prefer the isolation of the album version, tbh
it's more fitting to the song, though those Bowie's harmonies are great

this & Without You I'm Nothing are constantly battling for my #1 Placebo spot
s/t has an addictive energy but it feels like such a cop-out to go with that one considering how much they expanded sonically after that

wonder if Post Malone was listening to the title track when he did this one

"The Bitter End" reminds me of good times playing SSX 3.
