I must apologize to you about hating on Ash Borer's latest. That monster rips me a new one now.

excellent review, enjoyed the flow and descriptions, there were spot on according to what I heard on this masterpeice last night. im listening to it again for the second time as I type this
Tremolo Heaven! only lets up for brief moment then comes right back in. it gives an almost constant violin-like type of feel to it
Also loved the varying riffs and tempo changes, and the tremolo speed as well
A fantanstic example of good song-writing thats gives a zoney conforting journey
I def listen to this many times throughout this week before deciding how it rates amongst my taste
Thanks again for sharing

So Angel, what other BM albums are there from this year that made you only think of this as "sort of" the best?
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.5
I threw in the "sort of" because this material was originally released last year as a CD-R on their
tour, due to time limitations. It was re-recorded and released on vinyl this year and sounds even
better. This is, without a doubt, the best black metal album of the year. Best one in several years,
to me.

a journey well worth taking several times

This isn't a re-recording of the 'Tour CDR' tracks, they are the same. Those tracks WERE the vinyl masters, just put on a CDR because the LP hadn't developed yet and the band wanted to have the recordings available on tour. The sound quality is noticeably better on the LP because it's the correct master for the format.

This still rules, but already excited for the new record next year.
Also possible spring tour on the East Coast. OH, MY GAAAWWWWDD. (If it happens.)

I'm going if they come to Pennsylvania. Especially if they would come with Ash Borer. I'd fucking walk if I had to.

Don't know about Ash Borer, since they were only just here in July - did you catch their show in Philly?
But, ugh, that would be a ridiculously awesome show... like that show last Friday in Oakland (FV, AB, Velnias, Hell, Sutekh Hexen, and Lycus). If that line-up were anywhere close to NYC, I'd be there. But, alas. :[

Yeah, I saw that lineup right after it was announced. Ridiculous.

Since FV and AB are both releasing stuff next year, here's hoping they do a joint East Coast tour... or I just move to the Bay Area, lol.
