I totally read it as Girls' Penetration.

To me it just sounds like a little more upbeat and less slutty pop even I don't understand any of it.

yeah it was insipid.
and i gotta listen to some j-pop because i actually like a decent amount of j-pop OP's to anime (sue me!) but i'm not so sure about k-pop. everything about it feels manufactured

yeah but korean girls never do much for me. too much plastic surgery and makeup, not to mention their fascination with being too pale. this is like true to the nth degree of korean pop stars (note: i know little to nothing about k-pop stars and only know what shows up on FB)

agreed tox. really don't like kpop culture. i don't get the appeal of this group especially. 127 plastic girls singing incredibly repetitive songs WOW

ye kpop is all about catchiness, choreography and "perfect" girls (or boys). it's musically pretty mediocre but some records definitely stand out (like this or t-ara's funky town).
it's a lot like our western pop while j-pop is hella gimmicky most of the time.

anyway, i dig ergo proxy (to some extent) & serial experiments lain, any suggestions?

Not based off the ones you listed because I haven't seen either. Despite the anime avatar (which ironically I put on to remind me to stay off Sputnik but that purpose has gone away) I've only seen like 13-15 series tops.

Serial Experiments Lain has been something I've been looking into watching, though.

It's pretty good, I'd give it a solid 10/10.
