Adam, you are better than that

Don't like the vocalist, don't like the instrumentation, don't like the CD

"wish people would stop acting surprised/frustrated when they find out a metalcore album sucks balls"
who is acting surprised/frustrated?
|

Someone negged this so I'll pos. : )

Good review i'm still gonna end up checking this out just because i enjoyed I Am so much. Also i wouldn't categorize these guys as "hot topic" metal because well when i saw them in January they lacked the tight pants, flat bills, and big gauges and to be hot topic metal you must have at least 2 of the 3.

he doesn't mean they shop at Hot Topic, he means their fans do (and the album is probably on sale
there as well)

The whole review is just moaning about how there is no defining factor. That's the only thing.
|
| |
What knott said and then what Aids said and then some clever remark about Mr. Adam's band selling out/ being better than the bands he opens for then finally a pos.
|
| |
Sea reviewing metal, now I've seen everything
|
| |
Band sucks, review is okay, you basically pan them for being ABR clones (which they are) and being generic (which they are), but it doesn't seem to say much that isn't already known
|
| |
iPim reread it.
RobotJesus all I said about Hot Topic was that that's the fan base they're pandering to. Which is absolutely true considering they often do advertisements with Hot Topic and they say that "the album is on sale on iTunes, Amazon, AND HOT TOPIC"
WhiteWallStarGazers, are you serious haha? I basically excuse them for being ABR clones... I don't care, really, the music sucks regardless.

if there's one thing this site needs, it's better reading comprehension.

this was decent for a few listens, but it wore out its welcome really fast
|

devoid of any single separating aspect, any reason to listen
reason
pushes no boundaries, ruffles no feathers, and provide nothing below the surprisingly adept riffs and breakdowns.
another reason
ultimately collapses because Texas In July refuse to add a single tinge of creativity or cognizant material
another reason
provide no incentive to listen to
another
I’m not asking them to apologize, as many who listened to I Am seemed driven to do;
oh, what's that WhiteWallStargazer? I just pan them for being ABR clones? Oh wait I do the exact opposite
The shame is that any tinges of skill and expertise in the songwriting and instrumental department go down the drain as soon as you realize that there’s absolutely nothing steering One Reality.
reason
If Texas In July are content being placed so comfortably into the mold of an ABR-cutout, then so be it;
[b]oh wait it's almost like I mention the EXACT OPPOSITE again, WhiteWall
comes off as a particularly well-executed covers album, one in which the artist has no voice at all.
reason
lack of any inventive or artistic input from Texas In July whatsoever
reason
I'm well aware that many of those reasons are similar, and I give more than enough evidence in the review that shows how glaring and horrible said reasons are, making it absolutely idiotic for me to say DA RIFFS IN DIS HERE SONG ARE BAD FOR THIS REASON THEN CUM THE BAD DRUMS because in reality the whole album is overarchingly bad for the same reasons.
I mean c'mon, really guys?
