Damn this is good. Really good. Just read that he died on my birthday. Also sounds like he might have died a virgin, which is a damn good reason to be depressed.

I don't like the orchestration on this
Drake didn't either

Drake didn't like any of his music, he underestimated himself because of how critics reacted to him, he thought he was a failure and didn't realize that he was a genius about 20 years ahead of his time, maybe more.

I dont like the orchestration either, for the most part. It gets in the way.

the only time Drake arrangements even sometimes annoy me are on "Bryter Layter", sometimes they can get out of hand. The strings and piano for the most part on here are pretty gorgeous.

I'll agree with Neutral here. The orchestration works perfectly here, unlike on Bryter.

even with that though (about Layter), "One of These Things First" is one of Drake's best songs

One Of These Things First is definitely one of his better tunes. Bryter Layter is awesome, and it certainly has a lot of great material. It's just not as awesome as this or Pink Moon.

Orchestration is definitely handled with more finesse than it was on Bryter Layter.
I love Bryter Layter, but sometimes it feels like elevator music.
This is just a wonderful folk record.
