I could be one of those mindless generational oblivious bats, but I didn't think this was that bad. It wasn't phenomenal, but not bad.

I don't agree at all, they aren't cliche, in fact a bright spot amongst a new rising tide of indie music out now. If having catchy tight harmonies is cliche i want more. Great guitar and unique sound, frankly you have to start somewhere and their off on a the right foot, this is their first album after all.

I saw these guys last night. They're actually pretty talented on their instruments, they just lack any sort of creativity in their songwriting. soooo yeah it was a terribly boring set.

I actually found the album quite romantic and hopeful. Yes, it has very pleasing indie archetypes (reverb soaked guitar, analog production, lush group harmonies, etc), but it comes from a very grounded and peaceful perspective on the world. I think that's an area of artistry that is too often dismissed as boring.
