pretty good cd, main problems i have is that it has the exact same production as Veil of Maya's cd and some of the tracks are filler

Great album, a lot of diversity in my opinion, like the jazz influences, could of used a few more solos as well as clean sections. The E.p. version of the songs that the album has are better in my opinion.

I still prefer Born of Osiris over this.

Same here, I still find it hard to find bands that sound exactly like this. But hell, every band that Sumerian creates, I am number one in line waiting to listen to that band.

I think this is better than After the Burial and Born of Osiris. The melodeath riffing in here is to die for.

How can anyone like this and flat out hate BOO. They are litterally so similar sporatic guitar riffing mixing between djenting and diminished slide riffs. Their drummer's main influence sounds like it's cameron from BOO. They even add ambient keyboard parts which BOO were the first to do in the genre. BOO a shuggah clone? laughable maybe if Meshuggah switched up their drumming style, added melody, used more aggressive riffs, and added more in-key shred (not chromatic tapping solos.) The fans of this and not BOO are just filling time until their next big release like My Children My Bride, Miss My I, or the Devil Wears Prada.

But seriously, this and A Higher Place are almost identical.

besides the neo black metal influences i would be inclined to agree relatively.

I could not stand A Higher Place. It was too boring and uninteresting to me. On the other hand, Artifacts In Motion grabbed me on first listen, and was fun to listen to. So maybe they are not so identical, or CoC simply work better the formula.
