Hmmmmmmmmm... AWS ripping off HWM? I don't think so. Are you talking about Benefits Of Thinking Out Loud or Smackin' Isiah? Maybe the vocals are influenced, but musically AWS is much more influenced by SoCal punk and thrash, HWM never shredded like them or played as fast/

this is awesome. just saw them 2 weeks ago at a small place w/living with lions who btw was awesome as well. a very good year for technical/melodic punk or whatever you call it. either way im going to preorder the ep on the 16th since i was cheap and never bought their earlier releases.

EP is outstanding. Haven't been able to stop listening to Australias or Bulletproof Tiger. Awesome stuff.

Listening now, Skid Rock might be the song of the year. Amazingly epic.

Um why does this have a higher avg. than Career Suicide when that album is way better?
Also didn't mention, the lifeless production on this kinda hurts it IMO. Failure on AWS's part not sticking with Bill Stevenson and Blasting Room for this.

^ Yea, the guitars are a lot lower in the mix, and the vocals are done poorly, it makes them sound a lot thinner than they should be

Strizz and Sunny bring up some good points. Career Suicide did a better job of working the tech in with great songwriting, and yeah...the production was waaaaay better on that cd. The Blasting Room fucking kills.

Don't get me wrong I have no doubt their next album will rule, but I have doubts that they'll ever be able to top Career Suicide

The next album will definitely rule, and I'll be really surprised if they're able to top CS. I just don't see them melding awesome songwriting and shredding technicality any better than they did on that.

Am I listening to the same thing as everyone else? Track 4 and 5 are the only ones which are listenable and both of them drag. This coming from someone who liked A Career Suicide.
|

Yeah, last two tracks are the best (by far). Others are decent though, not unlistenable.

That fucking bullshit, A Wilhelm Scream is alright but no way should them and Animal Collective be mentioned in the same sentence. A Wilhelm Scream EP vs. Fall Be Kind EP no comparison.
|
| |
can you read? I was saying that the level of hype Supporting Caste had in the punk world was comparable to the hype MPP received from the indie world. it has nothing to fucking do with AWS. and beyond that ANIMAL COLLECTIVE AND AWS ARE NOT MENTIONED IN THE SAME SENTENCE... AT ALL.

Fun Time is ironically kinda boring.
but Bulletproof Tiger is definitely one of the best songs AWS have ever done. Every Good Story Needs a Shower Scene needs more love.

Holy crap, this is badass. The fast aggression of punk with the technicality of a prog rock band?? SIGN ME UP!

does anyone know the what the REAL wilhelm scream is...
