i love slayer and this is one of my favorite albums and raining blood was one of the first songs i learned to play on Guitar but whats the coolest thing is the video on their latest dvd where the lights go dark on stage and they come back on and its blood raining from above that was fuckin awesome

I love Reign In Blood. I also love Raining Blood.lol. Some people wonder why the song is called Raining Blood but the albums called Reign In Blood. For those of you who don't understand, in the song Tom is singing about it raining blood but then in the end of the song he says "now I shall reign in blood"

omg greatest cd ever- reigning blood is a classic and i dont think ill ever get tired of hearing it (i do hear it alot)

I absolutely can't stand Reign in Blood. Angel of Death and Raining Blood are pretty good, but the rest I can't stand. The songs are so short and pointless.

This is not the best but its the most hardcore metal album ever. Its fun to listen to.

this album fucking rules, you don't have a good metal collection without any Slayer.

just got this today...and shiiit is it GREAT. i love it. the first slayer i have heard. what other slayer albums should i think about picking up?

This album is amazing, but it's a little too punky for my taste, which is why I did not rate it 5 or even 4.5. Raining Blood rocks though.

I can't stand this album. It pains me to listen to anything more than Raining Blood and maybe Angel of Death.
Edit: I posted something similar to this a few posts up. It's several months old, though, and I forgot about it. Oh well. This Message Edited On 09.11.05

I never understood the big deal about this album, or Slayer in general. Most people make a huge deal about Slayer's br00tal thash riffs, but I always found the riffs very simple and weak. Maybe it's just me, but these guys put me to sleep.
|
| |
Even if the riffs put you to sleep, the solos wake you up because it sounds like your cat is being killed.

The solos are mindless shredding. They aren't memorable in any way.

The solos are terrible.
"Okay, Kerry, let's see how fast you can randomly shred this solo."
"Sure thing."

They are memorable because they are so bad. Have you heard Kerry King's guest lead at the end of Pantera's "Goddamn Electric"? That lead, however bad it is, will never leave my head. They are definitely terrible guitarists, but they wrote "Angel of Death", so....
Plus, their solos aren't
*deedeedeedeedledoodledeededeerereeeeereeraa deeedeeerrrrrrrr*
They are more like this:
*Weeeeweewaaaaaaaaoooweeeweedadededededededweeeeeeee*

I believe "tremolo bar wankery" is a good description.
