Been on a massive Blur kick recently
|
| |
Saw them in '97 when they did a small tour of this just after it came out. Bloody blinding.
|
| |
Also, someone needs to stop fucking around with the album art
That joke's not funny anymore...
|
| |
I've also realised that this band are brilliant, never appreciated them enough as a kid
|
| |
My Joy of Life is on a Roll.
Tune!!!
|
| |
Can't believe I used to have this at 2.5
|
| |
Better than OK Computer lol
|
| |
Wait why is this Frogstomped lol
|
| |
On Your Own is the greatest tune of all time. It’s in desperate need of a sowing overwrought 5
|
| |
I'm 5 albums into their discography now, and I'm conflicted massively. It feels like every album has a small handful of really great tunes, weighed down by heaps of forgettable ones. Parklife is an exception though, most of that album is pretty damn good actually. But the rest are a 3 at best. Onto the next one!
|
| |
You’ve pummelled it in a day mate. Have some restraint for fuck sake.
|
| |
I've got nothing better to do! Perks of working from home I guess... I'm gonna play them all again today, try and stop me.
|
| |
That being said, I listened to Parklife again last night whilst cooking pasta and I do really like that album. Jubilee is a banger!
|
| |
Hahaha
Good lad, yeah Jubilee has always been a fave.
|
| |
Modern Life has won me over too, some really solid songs on that! Think I might be a fan now...
Still not crazy on this album yet outside of the singles. Need to play it whilst cooking pasta or something, worked a charm last time.
|
| |
On Your Own is the best one on here.
Modern Life is Rubbish has always been the best album.
|
| |
Death of a Party is my favourite so far, followed by Beetlebum (maybe the nostalgia of playing Rock Band talking there though). Can't wait to give this another proper listen later!
Modern Life has an incredibly strong stretch of songs (the first 9 are solid!). You might be right actually! Listening to Oily Water now and those final 2 minutes hit on another level!
|
| |
13 and Think Tank will surprise you, they are pretty far from where the band started out sonically.
|
| |
I did notice the opening track on 13 is like 7 minutes long? They gone prog or something? Haha! I'm excited to delve into their other stuff, just letting the first few albums sink in more first.
Getting a feel for them a bit more today. As Zakalwe mentioned, I'm restraining myself lol
|
| |
Second half of this album is where it's at.
