I love each album for different reasons; I think Second Death does well with the ambiance and post elements, Betrayer has the best aggression, and TWYS combines all of it.
One of my new favorite bands, really. Shame they're gone.

They were from Dayton too, so at most a 2 hour drive from where I live (gotta add more time since that city is always under construction or some shit).

Mort, good luck on the review! Love your reviews and you always usually review albums which need more attention which is sweet.

I'll be up for reading it certainly.
Might 5 TWYS, I'm fanboying so hard right now. This band is awesome. Probably rivaled only by Amia Venera Landscape in my book.
I fully embrace my ridiculous bias.

I feel like this band destroys Amia Venera and I love them too. Problem is that band is really annoying me with this new album shit.

Yeah, I totally get that.
To be honest, it's hard for me to consider one better than the other. I actually really love the post-metal/piano/ambient passages on The Long Procession; they really fit the mood of the album, which is generally somber and full of anger/resentment. It adds a layer of sadness or distance. They also blend mathcore songs (Empire being the most noteworthy) with more hardcore ones (Glances) that have less time changes.
Conversely, with The Woman You Saw..., it's chaos in the best way possibly. The ambient sections/post-sections are more... aggressive? Not sure if that's the best word for it, but those parts are essentially louder and heavier than AVL ones. Combined with more mathcore-inspired tracks with varying riffs, the overall atmosphere definitely comes together as a life in disarray.
Both are amazing in their own rights. Sorry for nerding out.

No man, nerd out all you want. I love seeing peoples reasons for loving an album/band as much as they do and it's cool to see what you like as opposed to me. I agree pretty much on everything you said but I haven't heard Harlots debut so I do need to check that.

It's worth a try. It's more so similar to Second Death in style, but it takes a different approach.

Oh my, this is a tad on the crazy side.
The lower harsh vox have a striking similarity to Caleb Scofield from Cave In at times. I like that.
