The increased use of electronics on AFI's 7th LP 'Decemberunderground' has spawned Blaqk Audio; a synth-pop/dark-wave/industrial side-project from Davey Havok & Jade Puget. On their intriguing - if overlong - debut album 'CexCells', Puget controls all of the programming & synths, while also producing the record. Trying to simultaneously please fans of darker Depeche Mode like electronica & catchy clubby synth-pop, the duo often miss the mark. However, there is definitely some promise here & a little bit of tweaking may just result in a strong stand-alone LP in the future. Recommended Tracks: Snuff on Digital, Again, Again and Again & Semiotic Love.

I love all of these. This was the album that broke me out of my angsty, only likes rock, teenager phase. And the bonus tracks Black Electric and Mute are god-tier.
