I personally prefer their studio versions. Also, I own Yessongs in vinyl and the sound

is rather poor, and it sadly reveals the weakness of its production. To say so, I assume

you have a remastered copy or something.



Also, the problem with 'Yessongs' is mainly the vocals department.

Anderson does not seem confident 'live'. He sometimes seems breathless ('Yours Is No

Disgrace' among others) and he probably suffers from microphone/stage fright. (not all

the time.''Close To The Edge'', for instance, is pretty well sung by Jon for a 'live'

Yes song). Also, there is something wrong when you hear Howe singing over Anderson's

voice. ugh

my next yes album im getting, Close to the Edge was mind blowing.

Prog perfection. Over the top, self indulgent, long songs, overblown. Absolutely as it should be. Wakeman wasn't reaching for the curry just yet.

Roundabout is probably one of the greatest songs ever.
