I don't see how it's a stereotype. A stereotype is like saying that something applies to an entire group of people, when in reality it only applies to some, right? Like saying all British people have yellow teeth. That's really the case here, though. Literally everyone (everyone who speaks english anyhow) says it. Although, people don't say it nearly as much as shown on various TV sitcoms. Anyways, like you said, doesn't really matter. Just want to make sure I haven't been using the word "stereotype" incorrectly.
