I have to give this album some credit, given that it was my real introduction to power metal (no shame) and to the band themselves, of course. I was 14 when I first heard "Through the Fire and Flames" and for a good few months, thought it was a masterpiece (again, no shame). Needless to say, I grew tired of it soon after but that main riff has stuck in my head for the last eight years or so, and like "My Spirit will go on" remains a nostalgia track. That's essentially why I'm not rating this album any lower, because of the amount of nostalgia it brings out of me. Listening to it now and again I can sort of understand where all the hate comes from, but it's genuinely a love/hate thing. At least it feels that way.

Album has some great moments like the instrumental break of Deathsquad, but you have to endure so much crap before getting to it. These guys have like 2 pre-choruses in each song, and the pre-choruses have their own pre-choruses
