not sicilian but yeah lol
if you watch his interviews, he's actually a very interesting guy. He comes from a small village of Sardinia (of about 1000 residents, mostly fishermen), which clearly influenced him. Seems like he doesn't like going to concerts lol. Though he said if he could start his career again, he would probably be playing some doom metal shit which was kinda funny

"if I were to overgeneralize, it's mostly just really weird pop ig?"
i think this album is the kinda territory where "pop" as a descriptor starts to lose its meaning
which probably does make it "weird pop" idk lol
always wish i'd visited sardinia tbh, had a sortof ex from there and feel awkward-sad about it now. seems like a special place, minus the honeypot coastline

"always wish i'd visited sardinia tbh"
It's very nice, though it depends on what you are looking for. The emerald coast (that's how we call it at least lol) is very beautiful but packed with tourists. If you prefer to be alone you should go south, where it's mostly rural landscape. Downsides about Sardinia are you absolutely need to have a car with you, otherwise it will be difficult to go around, and you should probably bring somebody that speaks Italian (or sardinian or latin) if you want to interact with locals and get to know a little about their culture

Thank you for this review. This album has been nothing short of cathartic for me. It is my favourite album of 2021 and one of my favourites of all time. I would not have found it had it not been for your review.

Haven't spun this in quite some time, listened to ashes and ojos today and they both sounded super fresh again. I love how smooth and crisp this sounds despite some pretty wild experimentation.

It's become one of those albums I listen to sparingly, but that helps it retain its luster. Would be difficult to consistently jam something this long.
