To be honest I think Spencer is better than Tompkins live. I love Tompkins' voice but he sometimes struggles to pull his own stuff off live, and that goes double for Ashe. I've yet to see any screwups or pitchiness from Spencer live.

And as for songwriting, TesseracT and Periphery are vastly different, even though they're both Djent. It's basically like comparing Tool to Dream Theater; they both may be "prog" or "djent" or whatever, but they're mining vastly different sounds that really can't be compared.

So there is this crazy article about a teen who died from consuming too much caffeine and the stock pick they used for the article is the kid posing for a photo with Periphery's drummer yikes.

He's partly cut out from the pic, but the full pic is here

I've seen Daniel twice and he completely nailed it, once on either side of Ashe. Spencer did too, so I can't necessarily disagree with you. I will say that I think what Daniel does is much more challenging, especially singing Ashe's stuff since he's naturally at a higher register.

I still don't like calling Tesseract djent very much, but I guess it can't be helped.

I just think labeling them djent doesn't really do them justice. Too proggy, atmospheric for that. Last album was barely djent at all.

I'm pretty sure he's referring to TesseracT and not Periphery

"The price is wrong" is easily the worst song theyve ever made, sounds so uninspired

Marigold is fuckin awful. Catch Fire is probably the worst song they've ever done. Best song is Motormouth. This is Periphery's weakest album for sure. Buddys voice gets whinier with every release.

this album just isn't catchy at all the way PI, PII, and (to a lesser extent) Juggernaut are.

"can't wait to see what ridiculous subtitle they put on PIV though."

Periphery IV: A New Hope.

There can be no other choice.
