They showed a ton of promise on here to be a really great pop band and Kevin delivered on that promise with Currents.

That might be my least favorite song here tbh. But yeah it's groovy.

Mine is probably Be Above It. Doesn't fell like too much is going on in it.

how is that even possible (@ mind mischief thing)

that part where it hits the minor chord then goes back to the synth part... damn that's a moving song

+ there's at least a coupla shit tracks on here, for better or worse

in any case yeah i have to say this is my favorite T.I., if only cos i find Currents notably harder to get through by the second half (tho with the closer it's got, it's worth it)

Why didn't someone tell me John Lennon came back from the dead to do vox on this one?

i'm sure there was some middle ground they coulda taken between the all-out pop transformation we got here (or well, a particular kind of pop. it'd be stupid to say innerspeaker & lonerism weren't largely pop records) & the relatively lo-fi/"vintage" recording shit we got from the first 2 that wouldn't have been flat-out middle of the road or repeating themselves, but album's good so fuck it

"they went poppy when they should have stayed psych rock"

Kevin is much better at doing pop than Beatles-influenced psych though.

(clearly we're never going to agree here)

This sounds pretty sweet on vinyl. It'll be the only Impala you'll ever need.

I find myself listening to Innerspeaker and Currents over this whenever I have the chance to listen to TI, tbh.
