"The Assassin and Hooks In You are two of the worst songs in the bands entire discography"
May I direct you to Wildest Dreams or The Angel and the Gambler?

Wildest Dreams is good though. I agree with The Angel And the Gambler. Definitely the bands worst song.

Also, The Assassin is among the last great songs that Steve Harris wrote himself. Incredible Killers-esque tension on a Bruce-fronted album.

Idk, that song sounds so goofy to me. I just can't get into it.

If anything from this album stands out as specifically bad it would be Bring Your Daughter, honestly.

yeah, bring your daughter sucks badly... I think wildest dreams is up there with this, though

This album is top 5 for sure, stop hating.

this album is vastly superior to 'Fear of the dark' except for the title track on that one.
I genuienly don't hate the angel and the gambler... it's too long but has this cool rock n roll vibe. Also the repetition of the chorus in the end has some kind of hypnotic quality to me. Not a great song, but far fro the bottom five or even 10 of Maiden songs.

This is the problem of all maiden's discog, only their debut can fight for the n1 spot. This is an excelent follow up.

This album usually gets underrated a lot for the reason Dewinged points out... @qwenta you are actually the first person I come across that actually overrates it. For me it sits between 3 and 3.5 above at least 4 other maiden albums

I've always loved this album since its release, so different from the other prog stuff and still superb.

Hey a 4.5 for this is fine but I went song for song in Fear of the Dark versus this and there's no comparison. Every FOTD song is superior. Even the "lesser" songs like Wasting Love, The Fugitive, The Apparition are better imo than the No Prayer songs. Solos, production, performances also >>

No, FotD is the worst Maiden's golden era album by far. But still an album from their golden age, so very enjoyable.

agree with qwenta. FOtD is really mediocres apart from the title track. Be Quick or be dead is palatable but the rest??

FOTD is probably the worst Maiden album. There, I said it. An The Apparition is the worst Maiden track of all time, although a lot of tracks on that one give it a run for its money. The fact that it is considered the best of Maiden's 90's run is baffling to me.

Powerslave having highest rate than 7th son upsets me a lot more.

Well kkarron, it contains the best track of their nineties run, by a vast margin. Beyond that, I do agree...

You mean Sign of the Cross? I agree, it's a classic

Sign of the cross isn't even the best on X-factor.. what a drag!

Best Maiden 90s track is Mother Russia, no doubt.
