because unfortunately we live in a society where guys ask girls out as the norm. for a girl to deviate from the norm there has to be good reason for it, there are several good ones. maybe the guys she has mutual feelings for is really shy, maybe she's just really bold, etc. i find a lot of the "bold" girls have hit on me but never asked me out, one of my friends was close to asking me out but she was desperate because her two best friends got boyfriends, she got talked out of it though.
