Album would not be the same without Bodysnatchers. Makes the album seem a lot more lively even though it's the only track of it's kind on the album.

I guess you could make a case for Bodysnatchers making the album better by providing variety but it makes the album a less effective moodpiece.
Jigsaw does kind of the same thing later on in the album though it's not nearly as different from the rest as Bodysnatchers.
Basically for me the In Rainbows vibe is defined by the 7 songs that are not 15 Step, Bodysnatchers, and Jigsaw, the rest are what really I'm looking for when I'm in the In Rainbows mood.
That's not to knock on those three other tunes (though I've never been quite as keen on Jigsaw as many are), basically from a consistency perspective this album is a 5 by default but the lack of a perfect mood is the difference between this being a 4.8-4.9 album rather than a perfect 5/5 for me.

I need to listen to this again soon. It has been too long.
To stay within the topic though, this is a full 5 for me. I have 0 complaints, which rarely happens.

yeah album is literal perfection i think you're trying to shape the album in your image as a mood piece where as i just see it as a beautiful collection and the variety makes it all the better for it. like every track is so unmistakeably THAT track, there's no threat of homogeny

I'm not trying to shape it as a mood piece, it is a mood piece more so than any Radiohead album except maybe AMSP now, I'm merely suggesting that it could have been a very marginally better mood piece than it is. And there's a difference between homogeneity and mood.
Am I saying Bodysnatchers is a bad song? No, far from that. It's actually one of my favorite songs on this.
Am I saying that this could be a marginally better album if a different song of comparable quality were put in its place? Yes.
Even if you think every song on this is perfect that doesn't mean it couldn't be a better album.
But sorry I didn't realize that suggesting a slight imperfection in an album that I clearly adore as much as the next guy made me the bad guy but alright.

The way Weird Fishes shifts towards the end and the warm guitars kick in, gets me every single time without fail.

If getting eaten by worms felt like how Weird Fishes sounds I would deem it a good way to die.
