|

That album was very underwhelming for me. I'd start with the debut.

Shai Hulud are to me what Misery Signals are to other people: that band that first blew you away with metalcore.

insurmountably better. it's not even a contest. MisSigs are boring
|

Defeater owe their existence to Shai Hulud. They were defining the genre when Defeater were watching Rugrats.
This is really old but might as well answer since I never did:
I mean in the sense that this will be the new album everyone will talk and wank over and basically everyone will review it and everyone will love it and the band will be sputnik's holy grail...
...Until their next release which will basically shit on everything they did and everyone will go back to wanking over Converge
|
| |
I wasn't even talking about sputnik. I'm out and about at hardcore shows almost every other day and 17 year old kids in Killing the Dream shirts love Defeater more than sputnik does. And that's not even a knock at them. Their first two records are great.
