was about halfway through s/t and ready to go on about how I still can't super get into her past Wheel for the most part which is so unfortunate to say since that album really makes me consider her to be one of my favorite artists but Mary to the end was breathtaking. There were moments in the tracks before that that were especially pleasant but they ultimately felt pretty tepid. i'll def listen again.

i have to agree that from Wretch onwards is noticeably better than the run of tracks preceding it

i think i really liked about half of Wretch and thought the rest was boring

there's like a present shift in, idk if it's her voice or how she's singing as well as, i think, the type of production she is going for post-Wheel and it's just not as good imo. that and I feel like her songwriting is much less dynamic and the newer stripped down ones don't hold a candle to the earlier ones. like I just put on random songs from both Sit Resist and Wheel and these just feel perfect.
I've only super liked about 4-5 songs each post Wheel album which is fine I guess but obviously could be better : / was hoping s/t would break that trend.

new one is mostly forgettable mum folk, this is above avg slowcore for sobs who don't have the patience for slowcore

I don't have patience for slowcore and that's why I hate this lol
New one imo has better songwriting chops
