Great album, good review. Text could be shorter tbh. Merci.

I find myself listening to more of Tremonit's solo stuff than AB as of late. Just something about Mark's voice that I can't get enough of.

Went overseas recently and the plane entertainment had this album so l put it on. Quality from front to back. Peace Is Broken was my fav. Myles has such a darn good voice and Tremonti is a godly guitarist.

Mark's solo stuff is godly yes
But this is amazing too, i'd say the only Tremonti album better than this is Dust

Yea, Dust is best solo Tremonti and love the T/t in it. The Cage and Catching Fire are also amazing from it.
Haven't fully checked Dying Machine yet.

Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking after all the singles he put out. I think I streamed it once after release and moved on. Maybe I'll try it again one of these days.

It's so weird seeing everyone praise Tremonti, I have been a fan since I was 12 and heard Creed and I was so used to everyone ripping them apart, never thought I would see the day that he would actually get this much respect.

You know, even when he was in Creed and I got to the point where I didn't like them anymore after their first album, I always had a feeling he was a much better guitarist than he was showing in the band.
Maybe it's just me, but Alter Bridge is pretty similar to Creed, but with a better (much better) vocalist and no (or maybe just less) restrictions on the band members like it seemed to be with Creed.
I have heard/read Scott Stapp was the reason the band (especially Tremonti) didn't play to their full potential, because he wanted to be the star of the show. Don't know how much truth is to that, but it seems like it fits, since AB is literally Creed minus Stapp, member wise.

Tremonti is a tremendous guitarist so l don't see why he wouldn't be praised. I never listened to Creed though.

I agree Ecnalzen, I still feel like they are held back from their true potential though, maybe due to the label or maybe by choice, but they play it really safe most of the time with song structure and don't experiment much for how technical they are as musicians.
They sneak some long, developing tracks in now and again but for every one of those there are 10 verse/chorus/verse/chorus/bridge/chorus tracks.
